Short review: I loved the book, could not put it down. Fun, adventureous, sweet, hot love story, intriguing easy read. LF is never disappointment. If you like a strong positive hero, who is not only an eye candy but has a good heart and sharp mind, and humor, and honor within- her men do. Its not just about the hot sex scenes with Lori, you would want to actually meet her main men, know these guys, because you can admire them, trust them, respect them. There are not just hot, they are attractive from within as well.
Same with her main heroine; she has gumption, guts, speaks her mind (for a change from other's books), strong sence of self, she has morals, knows what she stands for, has generousity of spirit... and good sence of humor. Even when she is in turmoil, she has strength to face her challenges and do some self-analysis. She does not whimper and whine, like most author's heroines who cry at a drop of the hat. I love LF's books, because you cannot help but truly admire the characters she paints, they are genuine and real-life likable, like a great neighbor who you want to get to know as a new friend.
Now that a few years have passed since first copywrite, Jeremy & Matt have grown-up; are there their stories to come? I hope so.

Ray is the greatest, wont back up, wont back down, and totally kicks ass! Eli, well lets just say YUMMMMMM, and his ability to see behind the facade, just makes it all the better, Love that she is able to take care of herself, but is still willing (grudgingly) to allow someone to help her. A new one for me from Lori Foster, how it slipped thru I dont know, but another 5 star read. Cant wait for her new releases to get here!
She is a kick ass bounty hunter. He is a very well to man who needs to hire a bounty hunter-quick! She meets him in a seedy bar to discuss the job and her turns her down just because she's a woman. Then the bar fight breaks out! They both kick ass & escape in her truck. She gets the job, but surprise, he's going with her. The story takes you to the jungles for rescue & romance. I really enjoyed it.
This is not a hard core survival story but it definitely has adventure and I could not get enough of the heroine. She is one tough chick and her back story was one that reinforced her credibility as a tough independent character. Her toughness was a part of her so throughout the novel she is true to herself and doesn't get all soft and whinny like in some stories. The guy sure as hell did not back away though he could hold his own and it was very entertaining watching them develop and grow at a very good pace. I highly recommend this book it was a delight and I can not believe how fast I devoured every page I could not put it down.
If it's a story by LF, it doesn't matter what the genre is... I'll buy it. I'll read it. I'll really, really like it. This one has a KICKASS heroine and a hot guy, of course. And as usual the writing is top-notch.
Unexpected flows at a good pace. There is a good depth to the level of emotion, and the sex is bouncy. Really great read.
I loved seeing pregnant Ray (the heroine) beating up on two men and threatening Jane, near the end. Ray is so macho. I loved her. There were a couple of lines I liked that I've thought about since reading this, in spoilers below.

On page 253, Ray is afraid that she won't be a good mother. Eli says to her "You know honesty and honor, pride, integrity, and the value of hard work. You, Ray Vereker, are going to be an excellent mother."

On page 289, Eli is trying to convince Ray to marry him. He says "I want to take care of you. And, I want you to take care of me." This line was a nice reminder to me that both husband and wife should want to take care of each other.

After discovering that his brother has been kidnapped in Central America, Eli Connors sets out to hire the baddest mercenary he can find. Imagine his surprise when he comes face to face with Ray Vareker, a petite yt lethal woman. Soon she is beating up the bad guys in a bar fight, and Eli knows he has found his man (or rather woman) for the job.

She reluctantly lets him go with her to Central America and after a little while, they succumb to the sexual tension for some sex in the jungle. After an exciting and harrowing escape, all return home. But Ray managed to bring a little something back from Central America when she discovers that she, the least maternal mammal on the face of the Earth is pregnant.

I thought that this was one of Lori Foster's best books. For one thing, it is a stand alone book, and does not have all those awkward paragraphs devoted to explaining relationships when characters from say the Winston books are re-introduced throughout the series. Also, the dialogue is fresh - not cliche-ridden like many of her books. And lets face it, Ray is one bad mama - a flawed heroine we can all admire.

For pure escapism, steamy romance, and an adrenaline rush, check this one out.
As with her other titles, think Nora Roberts with more explicit sex. Alpha male pursues spunky damsel in distress, blah blah. The sex scenes are the best part. Lori is not a great writer, despite her apparently huge online fan base. Her writing would benefit from some ruthless editing. It's also odd that she writes almost exclusively from the male point of view while her primary audience is female. Despite some lame writing, al la EL James, she manages to tell a gripping fast-paced story with characters well developed enough to care about.
